How to form the Present Subjunctive1. Conjugate the verb to Present Tense "yo" form. (Don't skip this step because any irregulars that exist in the present tense "yo" form will carry through to all conjugations in the subjunctive i.e. -GO Verbs, Stem-changers, -ZCO Verbs, and other irregulars).
2. Drop the -o
3. Reverse the ending (-AR verbs get -ER endings / -ER/-IR verbs get -AR endings)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Regular Verb Examples:
Hablar Comer Escribir
hable hablemos coma comamos escriba escribamos
hables habléis comas comáis escribas escribáis
hable hablen coma coman escriba escriban
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Stem-Changing Verb Examples: (Only applies to -AR and -ER Verbs)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-IR Stem-Changing Verb Examples
Inside the boot, the regular, present tense stem-change happens, however, outside the boot there is still a spelling change:
e > i
o > u
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-CAR, -GAR, -ZAR Verb Examples
All conjugations use the following spelling changes:
c > qu g > gu z > c
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
